Duties
Serves as the Deputy Commander and full participant in managing the Distribution and Support functions performed within a distribution center, specifically a Strategic Distribution Platform (SDP).
The center is a supply distribution facility providing wholesale and retail logistical support to a variety of national and worldwide customers.
As the Deputy Commander, incumbent has assigned responsibility for the overall management of the center, its programs and operations.
Supports the Center Commander's programs, making evaluations and recommendations to ensure their success.
Uses a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of distribution policy in serving as the primary center-level technical authority on distribution operations and programs.
Interprets higher level guidance, and develops local operating plans, policies, and instructions.
Advises the Center Commander, other local managers, and external customers on distribution programs and other matters that affect the Center's national and worldwide programs and projects.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Distribution Facilities Manager, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements Including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Performs as the on-site primary technical authority for distribution operations.
Forms long-range plans for the organization and makes necessary organization changes to implement these plans.
Shares in the responsibility for programs including the accuracy of stock inventory and supply systems, and monitoring the progress of the organization toward meeting goals, periodically evaluating progress and making adjustments.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
