Duties

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing a variety of administrative support services to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Central District of California. Performing a wide range of support services related tasks and duties: Ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Assisting with a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities. Projecting and analyzing space and office furnishing needs. Operating warehouse storage and material handling equipment. Assisting with special events, press conferences, meetings and/or community outreach activities. Performing market research to identify recommended sources and the estimated cost and availability of required items. Initiating, preparing, editing, and processing requests for goods and/or services Receiving deliveries, checking items against packing slips, purchase orders, or purchase card orders; preparing receiving reports and contacting vendors for delivery status. Maintaining records. Receiving and distributing mail and packages. Preparing a variety of reports and responding to inquiries and./or requests for information Participating in property and equipment inventories. Escorting contractors within USAO workspace (to include after-hours). Driving to and from branch offices and picking-up items from vendor locations (Must have a current valid driver's license). Performs other duties/special projects as assigned. Providing outstanding customer service. This position requires the ability to perform work requiring physical exertion such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities and recurring lifting and moving of moderately heavy items such as boxes of paper, supplies, equipment, tables, chairs, and record boxes weighing up to 100 pounds. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized experience, education, or a combination of education and experience. Specialized experience is defined performing the following types of duties: maintaining and administering a variety of budget and financial management activities, administering a variety of routine contracting and procurement activities, providing administrative support services in area such as space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, security, internal controls, mail, records, reproductive services, forms management and communication services, office automation, information management and communications hardware and software, coordinates a variety of facility maintenance and/or repair activities for workspace. Education: One of the following types of education in a related field (e.g., Business, Accounting, etc.): a Master's or equivalent graduating degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.); or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university. C. I have a combination of specialized experience as described in A and education described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet the total qualifications. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of two full years.
