This position is located within the Medical Service Line at the VISN 19 Rocky Mountain Network, Department of Veterans Affairs in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to): Receives and directs callers and visitors. Prepares clinic profiles for the Clinic profile manager to enter into the system for providers or Clinic closures as needed. Maintains and takes meetings minutes. Maintains and tracks mandatory training for Medicine Service Line providers to include tracking of BLS and ACLS. Serves as the main timekeeper for the Medicine Service Line, and backup time keeper as needed for other services. Receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures and assists in preparation of reports. Orders basic office supplies as needed. Utilizes Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Visio and other software packages; creates agendas, reports, letters, policy memorandums for concurrence and compiles presentations. Assists with travel coordination for Medicine Service Line and education requests. Schedules appointments, consultations, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences. Performs other related duties as assigned. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience (which should be included on your resume) is: performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; answering and directing phone calls; receiving visitors; preparing correspondence; maintaining files/records; using a computer to perform a variety of support tasks; scheduling and managing a calendar of appointments. At this grade level, applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform assignments independently with minimal oversight. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position: ClericalCommunicationsManages and Organizes InformationTechnology Application IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, however, some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, or small parts. No special physical qualifications are required to perform the work.
