You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator within NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE at Gulfport.
Duties
You will operate trucks up to 26,000 pound Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) on regularly established schedules and routes.
You will transport material throughout the base and public roads/highways for long and short hauls on a routine basis.
You will operate gasoline and electric forklifts, weighing 6,000 pounds and up to 15,000 pounds, moving material up to 15,000 pounds, and lifting material in transit up to 12 foot high during operations.
You will receive, unload, and process incoming shipments manually or using Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
You will use pre-operational inspection checklist to ensure an adequate fuel supply and other general conditions for safe motor vehicle operating.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain/maintain all valid licenses with applicable endorsements, qualifications, and certifications to operate the type and class of motor vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) being utilized to include Forklift.

I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: Operating trucks to transport material throughout public/highways for long and short hauls on a routine basis; Receiving, storing, assembling for issue and delivery by motor vehicle a variety of bin and bulk supplies, material, and equipment; Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivering material to sites by the most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations; Identifying proper weight distribution requirements according to conveyance to prevent damage during transport; Using pre-operational inspection checklist to ensure adequate fuel supply and other general conditions for safe motor vehicle operation; Reporting overages, shortages, or damaged conditions to supervisor; and Operating gasoline and electric forklifts, weighing 6,000 pounds and up to 15,000 pounds. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including: Operating trucks to transport material throughout public/highways for long and short hauls on a routine basis; Receiving, storing, assembling for issue and delivery by motor vehicle a variety of bin and bulk supplies, material, and equipment; Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivering material to sites by the most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations; Identifying proper weight distribution requirements according to conveyance to prevent damage during transport; Using pre-operational inspection checklist to ensure adequate fuel supply and other general conditions for safe motor vehicle operation; and Operating gasoline and electric forklifts, weighing 6,000 pounds and up to 15,000 pounds. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
C. I have the ability to perform common tasks including: Operating trucks to transport material throughout public/highways for long and short hauls on a routine basis; Receiving, storing, assembling for issue and delivery by motor vehicle a variety of bin and bulk supplies, material, and equipment; Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with material observing safe handling procedures using manual or mechanical means and delivering material to sites by the most expeditious route, observing all traffic laws and regulations; and Operating gasoline and electric forklifts, weighing 6,000 pounds and up to 15,000 pounds. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
