About the Position: As an employee of the US ARMY Field Band augmentation, incumbent will operate a multitude of different types of motor vehicles. When necessary, will perform vehicle maintenance. And will assist set up crews and stage manger with performance preparations.
Duties
Responsible for safe operation of vehicles in all road conditions and in all weather conditions.
Responsible for maintaining dispatch logs and ensuring secure vehicle key storage.
Responsible for additional security measures during high-threat conditions.
Responsible for proper loading and arranging of cargo with consideration of the size and weight of the cargo and vehicle capacity.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is subject to a background investigation to include a National Agency Check and Inquiries(NACI)
- Must posses and maintain a valid Class-A Commercial Drivers License (CDL-A) with P (Passenger) endorsement.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Department Of Transportation (DOT) medical card must be kept on file.
- Must present current traffic record from MVA (printed within the last 30 days) and have no suspensions and no points. Traffic record review will be required once per quarter.
- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to work flex time schedule, to include weekends, as required by Field Band mission.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 75lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Motor Vehicle Operator~ without more than normal supervision. 1) Operate and maintain motor vehicles equipped with air breaks that are utilizes to transport passengers. 2) Perform dispatcher and loadmaster task such as: creating manifest for vehicles, assigning drivers to vehicles, and/or developing proper load order. 3) Apply safety rules and regulations applicable to motor vehicles and passengers. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS- Physical effort is required to operate the larger vehicles and to operate various additional controls. Physical effort is required when loading and unloading vehicles, maneuvering large wheeled cases weighing up to 250 pounds, sometimes on grades, stairs and on varying surfaces, such as pavement, sand, gravel and grass. Regularly lifts equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. Moderate physical effort is required in reaching, bending turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
WORKING CONDITIONS- The position requires working inside and working outside in all types of weather. Drives in all types of traffic, weather and road conditions and is thus exposed to the possibility of serious accidents. Operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or loading/unloading vehicles.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
