You will serve as a Visual Information Specialist (Medical) in the Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Center of NAVMEDSUP DET BETHESDA MD.

Duties

You will understand anatomy, physicology and medical terminology to create imaginary and medical illustrations that communicate complicated medical science and healthcare illustrations for patients and doctors. You will have medical and scientific knowledge understand complex information and communicate in a clear visual narrative that is accurate, educational and engaging. You will create technical and medical illustrations for brochures, medical scientific posters, dental table clinics, pamphlets, booklets and report art from verbal and written instructions. You will select the type of material and means of automated production considered most suitable for specific visual production.

Qualifications

To Qualify for GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Demonstrating ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GS-11: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with major studies in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GS-09: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related leading to such a degree with major studies in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.
