About the Position: Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) mission statement: To receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components to meet contingency requirements in support of the warfighter.

Duties

Designated and performs as CAAA’s NDT Responsible Level III Allocates and manages resources, including personnel, equipment and facilities required to successfully accomplish nondestructive testing requirements. Responsible for maintaining personnel training, qualifications and certifications. Performs oversight of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) program operation, assessing adequacy and effectiveness of the program and performance of NDT inspectors. Provides technical support on matters related to nondestructive testing.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure statement OGE Form 450 and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent is required to meet the NAS410 Radiography Level II certification prior to entry.
  • Incumbent is required to meet the NAS410 Radiography Level III certification within 2 years of entry.
  • Must have or obtain Explosive Safety Certification by requirements outlined in AAAR 350-1 (Explosives: Certification of Personnel Involved with Explosive Operations) within 1 year of entry.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for PRACTITIONER (ENTRY LEVEL II) (N - ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT) certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service which includes: 1) Performing nondestructive testing to accept/reject product as a NAS410 certified nondestructive tester. 2) Assisting in the monitoring of all aspects of nondestructive testing programs. 3). Interpreting customer specification to develop and qualify NDT processes to meet those specifications. 4). Provides subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
