About the Position The Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis & Information Security) position is located within Brooke Army Medical Center, Information Management Division, Fort Sam Houston, TX. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Perform information technology functions of the Department of Defense (DoD) electronic medical records, Composite Health Care System (CHCS), and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHL TA). Perform system evaluation of data base structure, programs, interface routines, extract logic and reports for the purpose of insuring optimum use of CHCS/ AHL TA software applications. Build and code into CHCS, site specific approved interfaces to external systems. Serve as an on-site Ad Hoc and Cache report coordinator and generates routine and highly complex ad hoc reports as requested. Perform task adding, updating, inactivating, and maintaining users and providers data in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and AHL TA.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (System Analysis/lNFOSEC): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing database management, investigating and/or analyzing software problems, and conducting quality assurance reviews. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Certification: Must meet requirements of DoD 8570.01 .M within 6 months of hire.
