This position is located in the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection, Consumer & Community Affairs Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support to promote public confidence in the nation’s financial system.

Duties
- Serves as technical advisor to the Deputy Director on a broad range of complex and sensitive issues involving consumer financial education, economic inclusion, and community development and consumer response. Analyzes the effects and ramifications of new proposals and legislation concerning fundamental Division programs and operations.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-14/GS-14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience serving as an advisor/liaison to senior management across organizations; and planning, directing and making recommendations on analytical and evaluative studies of policies, program and procedures, management reporting, and project tracking.
