This position serves as the Electrician Supervisor for the Alexandria Veterans Affairs Healthcare
System (AVAHCS). The AVAHCS covers 150+/- acres and approximately 720,000 gross building
square footage and has five Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) locations, Lafayette,
Lake Charles, Jennings, Fort Polk and Natchitoches, Louisiana. This position works under the
direct supervision of the Maintenance and Operations Section Supervisor.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to;
Ensures that all Operations & Maintenance and inspections of all emergency power supply systems and electrical systems.
Assigns work orally and through work orders, building plans, and blueprints.
Responsible for maintaining balanced workloads by shifting assignments, workers, and other resources under own control to achieve the most effective work operations for the electric shop.
Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes; implements corrective actions within authority to resolve work problems; and recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors.
Manages and coordinates the work of the unit supervised with other shop supervisors.
Serves as a Contracting Officer' s Representative Level II (COR-II) on service contract and projects as required.
Informs higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, , subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
