Duties

You will input or extract financial data using a financial management system (e.g., Standardized Accounting and Reporting System [STARS]. You will advise personnel (e.g., employees, supervisors, staff) on financial discrepancies. You will reconcile organizational financial records with official accounting records to ensure accuracy. You will examine transactions to identify purchases from unauthorized merchants, violations of limits, or other irregular activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: : 1) Performing work in support of budget analysis, administration, maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data; 2) Understanding administrative rules, regulations and procedures associated with records, reporting, and keeping track of budgetary transaction; and 3) Conducting research and gathering data to provide input for financial reports. GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Performs account maintenance and accounting work requiring understanding in accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify and maintain; 2. Reconciles accounts and accounting data; And 3) Applying budget regulations, practices and procedures related to specific financial management functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In addition to specialize experience you may use the following to qualify at the GS-5 level: Successfully completed four years of education above high school level or A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
