Duties
As a Data Scientist, you will:
Be responsible for researching, assessing, evaluating, and realizing useful and valuable emerging technologies and techniques that can progress the analytic capabilities and offerings across the Operations Division.
Translate medium to complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language.
Consult with internal and external stakeholders and customers to identify the appropriate data, methodological approach, and design.
Consult with customers and apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved information systems to meet the business requirements of customer organizations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis for financial cross sectional data; AND
Collecting data through multiple mechanisms (e.g., surveys or HUD systems) for data analysis; AND
Preparing and delivering technical/narrative reports for making program decisions; AND
Reporting results or trends in graphs, charts, or dashboards.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the

Basic Requirements
A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
