About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts center at Fort Richardson, AK. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 20 hours per week, may work up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Duties

Ensures proper documentation of orders, i.e., correct stock numbers, quantities, and costs. Completes assignments within a reasonable time period, producing an acceptable, quality product. No more than 3 individualized items per quarter may be returned for corrections. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to learn on the job and makes effective use of time on the job. Maintains highest level of housekeeping standards in the work area. Adheres to all fire, safety, bio-environmental, and facility policies and procedures. Maintains standard of conduct. Resolves problems promptly with minimal adverse impact on customer and functional operations. Interacts with colleagues, supervisor and patrons in a courteous and professional manner, demonstrating an ability to work cooperatively with others. Demonstrates understanding and proficiency in operating cash register system. Accurately completes end of day paperwork/forms. Accurately enters transactions to maintain perpetual inventory. Requirements

Qualifying Experience: Must have knowledge in operating laser engraving systems and have basic knowledge of computer and software such as Windows system, Corel Draw, Corel Paint, Microsoft Office, importing/exporting data using disc and flash drives, and formatting in order to program equipment, and the ability to read text and apply accordingly. Experience in cash handing and serving customers in a business environment is required. Must be able to read, write, spell and figure basic math and measurements. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public. May work uncommon work schedule, including weekends. Requires continuous standing, walking and stooping. Subject to metal and wood splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises. Must be physically able to lift and carry items up to and including 50 pounds. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must satisfactory complete installation, state and national criminal background check to include (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
