This position is located within Fleet and Family Readiness Program, Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) and is that of a fully credentialed Clinical Counselor. The primary purpose is to provide direct service in the form of counseling individuals, couples, families, and groups on matters pertaining to family dynamics, parent-child interaction, couples communication, stress reduction, adjustment to military lifestyle, Family Advocacy Program (FAP), case management and more.

Requirements

  • An Access National Agency Check Investigation (ANACI) is required via the SF86 Security Form.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

Please see the 'Education' section of this announcement for details concerning the qualifications. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. As part of the application process, you must complete and submit an occupational questionnaire. The following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities have been identified for this position:

Education

To be qualified for this position, the Clinical Practitioner must meet ALL of the following requirements:

1) State or U.S. territory or license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as independent practitioner;

AND

2) Two years, full-time clinical experience post-master's supervised clinical experience;

AND

3) Possess at least a Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation in one of the following clinical fields:

  • Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs or an equivalent degree; OR
  • Master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree.; OR
  • Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent degree; OR
  • Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school AND a 1-year APA accredited clinical internship.
AND

4) Two years of experience with working in the field of child abuse and domestic violence.
