About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Recruiting Command (USAREC), Battalion (BN), S-1. Its purpose is to process a variety of military Human Resource actions in support of the BN, its supporting companies, and recruiting stations.

Duties

Conduct detailed reviews of military personnel records to ensure completeness and accuracy. Answer inquiries concerning military human resource actions. Review consolidated reports to prepare recommendations for military human resource actions. Process a variety of military human resource actions to include requests for transfers, reassignments, promotions, military classifications, and separations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to be able to type 40 words per minute.
  • Occasional Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required.

United States Army Recruiting Command/ United States Army Accessions Command (USAREC) Employees: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) utilizing an established system to process military personnel actions; (2) Preparing personnel reports; (3) maintain personnel files in accordance with established procedures, (4) and preparing correspondence on behalf of assigned organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-5). ALL Other Applicants: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) utilizing a human resources system (i.e. Electronic Military Personnel Office (eMILPO) to process personnel actions; (2) assist in the review of military actions to assure accuracy and completeness; (3) reviewing reports to make recommendations; and (4) utilizing automated system to input data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyManages and Organizes InformationMilitaryPersonnel Action Processing and Recordkeeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
