About the Position: This position for the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) is supporting the Cleveland Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).

Duties

Provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to subordinate personnel. File incoming materials and documents in accordance with established filing system. Review documentation to ensure forms are completed correctly. Conduct on-the-job training of new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee may be required to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work (work before 0600 or after 1800 hours).
  • Employee will routinely be required to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in the workload based on the requirements.
  • Ten percent business travel or temporary duty (TDY) requirement on an annual basis. Employee may be required to perform occasional overnight travel as assigned.
  • Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
