About the Position: Works directly for the supervisor of the Processing Section in a Military Entrance Processing Station. The United States Military Entrance Processing Command is a joint Department of Defense command responsible for processing applicants into 5 branches of military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard). The primary purpose of this position is to provide additional administrative assistance with the transportation arrangements for military enlistees.
Duties
Provides administrative assistance with transportation of recruits from the MEPS.
Consolidates by name projections from senior service liaisons and forwards to each CTO.
Conducts the pre-enlistment and/or the pre-accession interviews of applicants in order to gather information previously not disclosed which would bear on moral or physical suitability for enlistment.
Maintains records of orders, distributes copies of transportation orders and enlistment contracts.
Screens applicant records to ascertain that all necessary documents are present according to the requirements of each military service.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience. Specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes preparing required transportation orders AND conducting travel briefing.

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
