About the Position: This position is located at the 88th MDG, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
Duties
Plans and coordinates military construction projects, medical equipment installation, and complex projects to maintain patient care buildings.
Interprets requirements for projects to include heating, ventilating, air-conditioning (HVAC), electrical, communications, medical gas, and other systems specific to medical equipment and ensures safe treatment of Medical Group patients.
Coordinates projects with medical staff at all levels to minimize disruption to patient care and mitigate the effects of the projects on patient care such as temperature, noise, and any other factor that may inhibit standards of care.
Reads, interprets and updates paper or computer-based engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Prepares initial project scopes, descriptions, and justifications for complex healthcare facility maintenance contracts.
Inspects maintenance projects or service contractor performance to ensure compliance with statements of work or other agreements, as well as conformance to codes and standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
- Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and coordinating all work requirements and projects to maintain buildings; conducting inspections to ensure contract requirements are met; and estimating a budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
