About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Director for Behavioral Health, Department of Behavioral Health Acute and Outpatient Cervices Adult O/P in Bethesda, Maryland.
Parking at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is limited, the use of commuting alternatives is recommended.
Duties
Address TRICARE eligible beneficiaries' questions on basic benefits covered by Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Uniformed Services (CHAMPUS), TRICARE, and Medicare.
Confirm accuracy and consistency of enrollee information within the Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), Military Health System (MHS) Genesis, and with other data systems.
Verify patient enrollment and eligibility for services, advises beneficiaries regarding the services available in the Military Medical Treatment Facility and how to access those services.

Instruct employees with specific tasks and job techniques, and provide written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
Develop daily rotation schedules for all MSAs assigned to the clinic.
Suggest process improvements in policies and processes to ensure the quality of product and to increase efficiency, efficacy, and effectiveness of workload.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes confirming accuracy of enrollee information within data system(s); advising beneficiaries on eligibility, availability, and access to services; and utilizing automated systems to input patient information and/or prepare administrative reports, graphs, and/or charts for the department. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
