Duties
Serves as a Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist for DLA Distribution and is responsible for managing Complaints, Training, Affirmative Employment and Diversity programs within DLA Distribution Headquarters (continued next line)
and regional Secondary Level Field Activities (SLFA) across the world.
Provides guidance, troubleshoots and answers questions related to this area of expertise and the field where the skill is used.
Implements DLA Distribution EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) programs in support of assigned employees including those at geographically dispersed locations.
Ensures that individuals, supervisors, managers, and senior leaders at each echelon within DLA Distribution remains current with changes in public policy, legislation, Congressional initiatives, (continued next line)
and law related to diversity programs and diversity workforce issues.
Applies best EEO and diversity management practices and strategies to implement a results-oriented diversity program.
Demonstrates consistent excellence in applying this competency across multiple projects and/or organizational levels.
Supervises all pre-complaint counseling and formal complaint within the regulated timelines.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Conducting data analysis, surveys, and assessments to identify barriers in all major personnel areas and actions;
- Providing guidance, troubleshooting and answering questions related to this area of expertise and the field where the skill is used; and
- Monitoring and facilitating efficient processing of discrimination complaints in accordance with established federal laws, regulations and policies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
