About the Position: This position is located in Fort Benning and is for the Morris R. McBride Elementary School.

Duties

Utilize supply and logistic support systems for management of supply records. Verify and record serial numbers upon receipt of goods. Ensure school support requirements are prepared, edited, and submitted to the Area Director's office for the purchase of supplies and equipment. Serve as property custodian maintaining a perpetual inventory of non- expendable property and supply records for durable items in the school. Assist in monitoring the school safety and security programs to ensure compliance with program requirements of DoDEA and the supporting military installation. Assist Area and District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place and adhered to. Ensure all supply transactions are recorded in an automated system and that copies of documents are filed appropriately to maintain an adequate audit trail. Manage stock levels for authorized items available through the supply system.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • One year trial or probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
  • This position has a heavy lifting requirement of up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes purchasing supply inventory; processing work requests of equipment for maintenance or repair; and monitoring contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Physical Effort: The work is partially sedentary; however, it requires regular walking, bending, standing, carrying or lifting items up to 35 pounds, lifting above shoulder height boxes weighing 35 pounds, and unloading/loading vehicles. Weight-handling equipment is available for heavier loads. Working Conditions: The work is performed in an office setting with adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Some positions are located overseas, requiring accommodation to foreign culture and adjustment to a variety of personal inconveniences typical of the overseas area, including the possibility of exposure to terrorist attacks.
