This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. In the Office of the Chief of Staff, Executive Secretariat division (SE). This position is for a supervisor to lead the Special Events staff in SE responsible for scheduling, managing and coordinating National Archives' special events/meetings. The SE Special Events team has the responsibility to oversee, schedule, manage, and coordinate all special events, meetings, and activities for the Archivist and National Archives.

Duties

As a Project Manager, you will: Serve as a supervisor for the Special Events team tasked with overall responsibility for: integration, scope, time schedules and estimates, costs, quality, human resources, communication, risk and procurement management for National Archives publicity and special events and meetings. Responsibility generally covers projects that include NARA staff, Foundation, and contractor support; affect the internal and external image of the entire agency; cover subjects identified in NARA's annual performance plan or Strategic Plan; and involve NARA functional staff from multiple NARA program offices. In coordination with the stakeholders of the National Archives, develop product plans that include the objectives, constraints, schedule, and resource requirements for the entirety of the project. Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets. Perform resource planning, cost estimating and cost budget and control. Maintain the official records of the Special Events and Scheduling team in accordance with NARA records management regulations. Update stakeholders, customers, and team members on project progress.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Supervising or leading a team of employees and monitoring their progress towards accomplishing goals and meeting deadlines; AND - Evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of operating procedures, regulations, and policies to recommend improvements and resolve problems; AND - Managing projects from inception to completion through project planning (i.e. requirements analysis, actions planning); AND - Experience serving as a project manager responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and implementing multiple projects; AND - Experience planning large events or ceremonies In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F): For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
