Duties

You will perform quality inspection over a variety of intricate component parts. You will prepare manually ammunition and components for inspection. You will set up and operate a variety of ammunition peculiar equipment such as continuity testing equipment for circuit continuity testing of rocket motors. You will identify critical, major and minor defects. You will prepare reports covering various types of inspections. Present data, indicates references, general observations made and resulting conclusions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and retain Secret Security Clearance.
  • This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
  • Position may require incumbent to perform duties under field conditions.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Ammunition Inspector without more than normal supervision performing tasks such as inspect such items as grenades, mines, rockets, small arms, mechanical and electrical fuses, bulk explosives and demolition items using a variety of testing equipment such as megger testers, continuity testers, multimeters and gages without more than normal supervision. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to InspectAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Dexterity and SafetyKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in areas that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Incumbent lifts moderately heavy objects (25-40 pounds) for approximately 15% of the time. The work is sometimes dusty, dirty, and greasy. Incumbent is subject to working with and in close proximity of unusually hazardous agents and unstable materials for a major portion of time (at least more than 25%). Incumbent is exposed to accidents and explosions which could cause deaths or injury.
