TIGTA Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position. Maintain current knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations and agency-specific directives, policies, bulletins, or other procedural guidance as well as Human Resources (HR) Information Systems (such as HR Connect, webTA, etc.) to ensure timely and proper submission and tracking of HR actions within Office of Mission Support (OMS). Assist managers by advising or serving as a proxy to review documents and packages for HR actions and ensuring they are submitted correctly and with proper attachments to HR. Track the status of OMS recruit and other HR actions and follows up as necessary to ensure they are progressing and are completed on time. Trouble-shoot HR issues, facilitate resolution, and appropriately escalate problems within OMS, Human Capital and Personnel Security (HC&PS), and the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS). Conduct New Employee Orientation briefing and receive new employee paperwork with the USA Staffing HR system. Represent and/or facilitate attendance to career/job fairs.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous 2 years*, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; or intended graduation is no more than 9 months from date of application. (However, you must graduate prior to being appointed to the position.) if applicable. For more information on education requirements go to Treasury's Pathways Program. *Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2 year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining 2-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond 6 years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study. Specialized experience for the GS-09 is one year at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the positions. Specialized experience for this position includes applying fundamental human resources rules, regulations, and procedures in supporting delivery of human capital programs and/or operations. Examples of such could include any of the following: - Advising on procedural matters related to human capital programs; OR - Coordinating and executing the management of established human capital programs; OR - Analyzing assigned segments of broader human capital management issues or problems and recommending solutions. OR, you may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: - Master's degree or equivalent, OR - 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, OR - LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR You may qualify with a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, your total qualifying experience is calculated as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Specialized experience for the GS-07 is one year at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes applying basic human resources rules, regulations, and procedures in supporting delivery of human capital programs and/or operations. Examples of such could include any of the following: - Providing factual and/or routine information related to human capital services; OR - Supporting senior level specialists in the management and execution of human capital programs; OR - Gathering and analyzing basic facts and drawing conclusions in support of human capital studies. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: I have successfully completed at least 1 full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours or equivalent) at an accredited college or university. OR You may have a bachelors degree and meet one of the following requirements for superior academic achievement: A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent.

Education

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
