The Facility Telehealth Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Telehealth activities and is considered an expert in this area of operations for the Medical Center. The Telehealth Coordinator has full supervisory responsibility for the Telehealth Medical Support Assistants (MSA) who work to support telehealth activities throughout the facility
Duties
Duties for this position include but are not limited to:
Supervises and evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Assures that all policies and procedures pertaining to telehealth are implemented and updates as needed.
Participates in Telehealth initiatives for VISN 23 and as needed or per request of the VISN Telehealth Program Manager.
Reviews all Telehealth Service Agreements (TSAs) for correct contact information yearly or as designated by facility policy and creates new TSAs as requested to accommodate the needs of patient care.
Assists with the development and use of telehealth notes and encounter forms and ensures encounter reports are reviewed and completely regularly per facility policy.
Conducts in depth training sessions on new technology usage for medical staff
Serves as role model for other Health Technicians/LPNs and paraprofessionals by demonstrating consistently effective communication, problem solving, and conflict management.
Helps train and support consulting physicians in the use of CPRS in the Telehealth clinics.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/13/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09 and for the GS-09 you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing customer service to patients and VA employees; assisting in resolving issues involving conflicting telecommunications, facilizing communication effectively with medical center administrative and clinical staffs, organizing, setting up and tracking local Telehealth projects. VISN staff, vendors, consultants and others. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a related field of the position to be filled. Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first year.
Specialized Experience GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing assistance with Telehealth technology, including skills in trouble shooting and evaluation of equipment sufficient to support, with IRM assistance, the equipment necessary for Telehealth encounters. Solves problems and propose alternative approaches when there are difficulties with availability of materials, and when there are conflicts with other telecommunications programs, either on local or VISN levels. OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree, LL.M., or equivalent doctoral degree in the related field of the position to be filled. The education portion must include courses that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Education must have been obtained in an accredited college, or university. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first 2 years.

Physical Requirements: The work may involve some degree of physical effort in testing and operating equipment. Work hours may vary at times to accommodate clinical staff on irregular shifts.
Work Environment: Work is done primarily in an office setting within a Medical Center. Incumbent works in close proximity with staff and may be exposed to communicable diseases.
