This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
This is not a drug testing designated position (TDP).
This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Communications and Public Liaison, Office of Marketing and Customer Service in Washington, DC.
Duties
Serves as the Audiovisual Information and Photography Specialist and is responsible for directing and coordinating the internal and external audiovisual communications activities for the Small Business Administration (SBA), with particular emphasis on the marketing and press programs.
Provides technical expertise and support at the agency through a variety of audiovisual methods and techniques including directing, editing, camera operation, teleprompter, audio recording, set lighting and video electronics to achieve the communications and marketing goals of the agency.
Makes decisions on production matters (e.g., format of the program, the way specific information will be presented, through narration, dialogue, or graphics) and on how to distribute resources.
Produces a wide range of videotaped packages related to the mission of the agency.
Collaborates with marketing and press programs to develop audiovisual products.
Confers with clients to determine objectives, extent of the subject-matter coverage need, and budgetary restrictions.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-13 level: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment critical to organization operations, ensuring seamless multimedia presentations are produced, such as podcasts, and are delivered effectively across audiovisual and social media platforms; and
Manage unconventional and artistic photo projects to produce high-quality products from digital images using photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop); and
Plan, direct, and organize photographic and video shoots covering organization operations in-studio or in field locations.
