You will serve as a Supervisory Traffic Management Specialist in the International Programs Directorate of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Duties
You will supervise FMS Transportation section, providing technical direction, general policy guidance and goals.
You will develop, adapt, implement traffic management and distribution policies and procedures within the command.
You will act as a consultant to foreign countries on physical distribution/logistics systems for movement and control of FMS material.
You will actively participate in industry organizations and forums and DoD working groups to maintain knowledge of current practice and new concepts in the field of international trade and physical distribution management.
You will conduct periodic visits to freight forwarders to maintain relationships, observe operations, collect information on DoD shipping performance, and study unique problems of each country.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Analyzing, evaluating, and applying theories, concepts, principles and practices of all aspects of Defense Transportation;
2) Supervisory experience, preferably in the Transportation field;
3) Locating, identifying and redirecting frustrated shipments of DOD and/or FMS material, assisting customers in resolving complex transportation issues and resolving problems relating to documentation, certification and misdirection of shipments;
4) Acting as a consultant to customers on physical distribution/logistics systems for movement and control of material;
5) Preparing and delivering Transportation related oral presentations and actively participating in Transportation industry forums and working groups;
6) Demonstrating and applying thorough knowledge of: a) FMS Transportation and US Customs related policy and procedures including those related to hazardous and classified material; b)deriving the "remaining exportable value" on an FMS case and ability to provide accurate figures to U.S. Customs, Freight Forwarders, FMS customers and program and case managers etc. is a requirement; c) procedures to update the MAPAD upon a freight forwarder change
