This position is in the FHWA Office of Public Affairs. The Digital Media Specialist will report to the Director, Office of Public Communications. You will be responsible for administering and maintaining a national public information program for the FHWA with primary responsibility for planning, creating, executing, and analyzing engaging content, successful strategies, and applications across multiple digital platforms.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade. For the GS-13:You must have at least one year of experience, equal or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which included:
Experience demonstrating accomplishment of developing and implementing a comprehensive Federal digital outreach program at the national level; White House rollouts and events that involve the long-term planning and execution of FHWA’s social media presence; and by day-to-day activities including hands-on multimedia content creation, message formation, campaign delivery, scheduling, video streaming, production coordination, platform maintenance, and analytics to advance the agency’s communications strategy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Communications and Media - Knowledge of the production, communication and dissemination of information and ideas to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
Manages and Organizes Information - Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
Multimedia Technologies - Knowledge of the principles, methods, tools, and techniques to develop or apply technology using text, audio, graphics, or other media.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, considering the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Writing - Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a brief, clear, and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
