You will serve as a PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT (MACHINING & METAL WORK TRADES) in the PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will coordinate employee assignments with other trades, engineers, military advisors, superintendents, and managers.
You will act as consultant and advisor to senior shipyard managers on matters such as feasibility of resource commitments, manpower availability, and qualifications and training of employees to support shipyard workload.
You will promote and administer management programs such as safety, cost reduction, productivity improvement, energy conservation, incentive awards, and employee performance appraisals.
You will ensure compliance to critical trade processes, work force safety, and environmental regulations and practices related to trade work processes.
You will provide both administrative and technical supervision for all machining and metal work trades employees.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing the administration of policies, technical programs and funds of trade and craft personnel and operations to support the machining and metal group workforce for submarine or ship work. Examples may include ensuring compliance to critical trade processes, workforce safety, and environmental compliance with trade work processes; identifying and establishing goals for quality workmanship and employee development; and ensuring production standards are equitable and requests changes when needed.
