This Custodial Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) Leader job is located in Rocky Mountain National Park, in the Facilities Management Division.
Government housing may be available on a temporary or permanent basis, but it is not guaranteed. Housing assignments are made though a bid process.
Duties
This position trains and oversees the work of permanent and seasonal Custodial Workers at Rocky Mountain National Park to include both front country custodial work and backcountry animal packing operations. Incumbent will assist the Custodial Supervisor in hiring, training, and scheduling employees, preparing buildings for seasonal opening and closing operations, and assist in trash collection contract monitoring and documentation. Work leader additionally performs minor equipment repair and will be expected to be able to work at elevations up to 12,000 feet in adverse weather conditions.
Clean restrooms, housing, dorm areas, offices, visitor centers, and workshops.
Monitor supply inventories and coordinate with supervisor to replenish supplies.
Serve as a backup to the supervisor in purchasing supplies and services to support a custodial operation.
Assist supervisor in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
Perform minor maintenance, repairs, and service to gas powered blowers and sprayers.
Enforce safety standards for front country and backcountry operations.
Lead other employees to ensure standards of service are maintained.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
You must have the ability to Lead or Supervise. Examples of such experience include the following: (1) leading a work group involved in custodial services and motor vehicle operations; (2) cleaning restrooms, housing, dorm areas, replacing light bulbs, dispensers, and performing minor maintenance; (3) teaching others in tool use related to the custodial trade, techniques and the safe handling and storage of chemicals; (4) operating a motor vehicle in normal traffic conditions to transport cargo/supplies including the loading and unloading of said supplies.
