You will serve as an Electrician Leader (Expert) at PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
You will serve as an Expert Electrician leading a group of Electrician Helpers, Workers and Apprentices ensuring work assignments are carried out on any of the three shifts assigned.
Duties
You will serve as an expert for work that involves removing, installing, aligning, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting and testing of equipment and machinery using known standards and test equipment.
You will use a variety of technical manuals, trade knowledge and manufacturer specifications to determine requirements and ensure quality control in maintained.
You will lay out, fabricate, assemble and remove electrical wiring, conduit, receptacles, transformers, panels, switches and circuit breakers on industrial plant equipment.
You will mentor, train and instruct trade employees in a wide range of electrical systems and equipment.
You will work to improve trade processes and keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies and procedures associated with electrical work.
Requirements

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
- Work requires intermittent heavy exertion, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing ladders, cramped work positions, visual acuity, close hand-eye coordination, color vision, depth perception and analysis by ear.
- Work requires the ability to lift, carry or handle items weighing up to 40 pounds and on occasion, lift items heavier than 40 pounds with assistance.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
