You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN SUPERVISOR I in the Pipe Shop Code 960 Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF). .

Duties

You will coordinate availability of any special tools, materials, equipment and assists trade help required with shop planners; and plans sequency of tasks, layouts, worker assignments and any special work methods to be utilized. You will resolve working problems and take action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages, and other delays, requesting special permission, decisions, or assistance from higher levels of authority as necessary. You will preview job at worksite; coordinate availability of any special tools, materials, equipment and assists trade help required with shop planners and plans sequence of tasks, layouts, worker assignments. You will perform detailed, planning, scheduling, work direction, coordination with assist trades, inspection and certification of nuclear work to prevent radiological incidents You will accomplish checkouts and refurbishment of nuclear electrical cabling; clean, inspect, and repair vital and non-vital switchboards; disconnect. You will instruct workers on proper methods, use and care of equipment, and safe work practices.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
