You will serve as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for classified and unclassified Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud environments/capabilities. This position is located in HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER.

Duties

You will plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments utilizing IT systems and services to include installation, operation, and maintenance of automated communications systems and other desktop technologies. You will develop new methods, approaches and procedures and provides advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues. You will diagnose, analyze and resolve IT systems, software and/or hardware problems. You will test and optimize the functionality of data transfers between systems, networks and data backbones. You will collaborate and integrate information system security; review certification and accreditation documentation to ensure that it is compliant with standards; review risk assessments and analyze impact of potential vulnerabilities. You will provide guidance to resolve processing problems. You will identify and define technical requirements applied to the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, management and support of systems and networks. You will maintain liaison with personnel in other commands/activities, intelligence agencies, and contractor facilities to identify and define current and future technologies to support Navy Intelligence requirements.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may requires a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Also, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1.) Maintain accounts in various Information Assurance tracking systems (e.g. eMass, XACTA, VRAM, PPSM, ACAS) to ensure the required information is current for each system; 2.) Ensure all systems maintain the appropriate security posture and authorization at all times for all operating systems, applications, and databases; 3.) Update various Authority to Operate (ATO) related artifacts when changes occur such as hardware and software lists, ports, protocols and resolves vulnerabilities/diagrams.
