The Housekeeping Aid performs the full range of manual cleaning tasks (ex: sweeping, dust mopping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, sanitizing, decontaminating and disinfecting) relevant to the area you are assigned.

Duties

Major Duties include: Works with a team or singularly depending on the task. Plans daily schedule in order to accomplish routine cleaning, which may include cleaning patient care and/or administration areas of the facility and surfaces. Empties all waste and trash receptacles including regulated medical waste, chemotherapy, pathological waste, hazardous waste, etc. Scrubs, strips, and applies floor sealers and finishes using powered buffers and scrubbers. Operates a variety of powered equipment such as vacuum cleaners, rug shampoo machines, baseboard scrubbers, and wall cleaning machines. Cleans walls, doors, door frames, floors, windows, blinds, beds/bed frames, fixtures and furniture, door knobs, light switches, and other non-critical reusable medical equipment (i.e., wheel chairs, gurneys, IV poles). Moves furniture and equipment when required. Loads linen carts and distribute or exchange linen in assigned areas. Other duties as assigned. Travel required. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted State driver's license, have a safe driving record, and demonstrate that he or she is medically qualified to operate the appropriate motor vehicle safely. Applicants are required to pass agency Government Vehicle Drivers physical examination.
