The Housekeeping Aid performs the full range of manual cleaning tasks (ex: sweeping, dust mopping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, sanitizing, decontaminating and disinfecting) relevant to the area you are assigned.
Duties
Major Duties include:
Works with a team or singularly depending on the task.
Plans daily schedule in order to accomplish routine cleaning, which may include cleaning patient care and/or administration areas of the facility and surfaces.
Empties all waste and trash receptacles including regulated medical waste, chemotherapy, pathological waste, hazardous waste, etc.
Scrubs, strips, and applies floor sealers and finishes using powered buffers and scrubbers.
Operates a variety of powered equipment such as vacuum cleaners, rug shampoo machines, baseboard scrubbers, and wall cleaning machines.
Cleans walls, doors, door frames, floors, windows, blinds, beds/bed frames, fixtures and furniture, door knobs, light switches, and other non-critical reusable medical equipment (i.e., wheel chairs, gurneys, IV poles).
Moves furniture and equipment when required.
Loads linen carts and distribute or exchange linen in assigned areas.
Other duties as assigned.
Travel required.
Work Schedule: Multiple tours available that may include nights, holidays, and weekends.

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
Driver's License Requirement: Applicants must possess a valid, unrestricted State driver's license, have a safe driving record, and demonstrate that he or she is medically qualified to operate the appropriate motor vehicle safely. Applicants are required to pass agency Government Vehicle Drivers physical examination.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
