You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR SUPERVISOR in the Department of the Navy, NAVFAC Northwest, Public Works Department (PWD) Everett, Integrated Solid Waste Division of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.

Duties

You will adhere to traffic laws and ordinances (e.g., state, local, organization) to safely arrive at destination. You will determine manpower needs based on projected transportation work. You will coordinate with workers and other supervisors to maintain work progress for meeting schedules. You will drive trucks long distance on highways, winding roads, and steep grades. You will maneuver trash and recycling trucks on public roads, dirt roads, or paved and unpaved lots to pick up and dispose of trash, refuse, and recyclables.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Operation of other equipment may require additional licensing or training, e.g., forklift, bailer, sorter, etc. or other equipment associated with recycle operations. Employee will be required to obtain and maintain applicable licenses.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Required to carry on possession a two-way radio (or other device) to maintain communications with dispatcher, office personnel, operations crew or supervisor on assignments and locations.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Driving vehicles such as heavy equipment trucks, van trucks, and forklifts; 2) Work Lead or Supervisory Skills; 3) Selecting routes based on hazardous conditions and laws restricting use of roads base on size of trucks.
