You will serve as a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR LEADER in the NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND of NMCPAC CWD DET LEMOORE.

Duties

You will lead three or more other worker to accomplish ordnance trades and labor work of the branch. You will inspect ordnance and ordnance handling equipment for proper configuration and safety. You will inspect magazines for safety, cleanliness, and compatibility of ordnance stowed within. You will assign the immediate tasks from the supervisor to be performed by individual members of the group lead; working along with others and setting the pace and demonstrating proper work methods. You will ensure the availability of needed plans, blueprints, materials. and tools are available and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations. You will inspect fleet issue ordnance for proper configuration, assure safe handling procedures during weapons transfers from delivery equipment to loading equipment. You will assemble components of precision guided weapons and general purpose bombs into all up rounds (AURS) and load/ unload gun ammunition to/ from Linkless Ammunition Loading Systems (LALS). You will perform in-process inspections during receipt, shipment, trans-shipment, segregation, storage of all classes of conventional ammunition/ explosives and inert components and assigns compatible storage.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current HAZMAT Forklift license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
