This vacancy is for a Senior Policy Advisor in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.
Duties
As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will perform the following duties:
Provide leadership and management to staff and activities on behalf of the Assistant Secretary (AS) and coordinates and implements special projects and initiatives to support the goals and objectives set forth by the AS
Provide expert-level policy advice to the AS in relation to all matters before the agency, including antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) case administration, participation in trade policy formulation in trade enforcement matters, the administration of the FTZ program, trade agreements negotiation and compliance, and stakeholder outreach.
Coordinate and participate in briefings, meetings and conference calls between E&C and the corporate community, trade bar and E&C customers and stakeholders.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Senior Policy Advisor GS-1101-15 GS-15 positions within the International Trade Administration in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Advising and enforcing the antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) laws to protect US businesses from unfair pricing by foreign companies and unfair government subsidies; and
Coordinating and producing congressional correspondence, briefing and other informational materials to the corporate community, and
Formulates policy on U.S. business opportunities and trade practices.
