The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Training Specialist Instructor and authoritative consultant to plan and execute logistics readiness training programs. Develops innovations or modifications to resolve issues and make recommendations in logistics planning and training of programs. Conducts briefings and participates in meetings and conferences.
Duties
Serves as a command level logistics readiness and planning training specialist, using Air Force logistics readiness and planning experience to analyze, develop, and evaluate Air Force logistics issues in support of all AOC Operations/Air Mobility Division management, Commander-Air Force Forces A4 staff operations, Deployment and Distribution Operations Center operations, Installation Deployment Readiness Centers and Squadron Readiness Center operations.
Serves as a nonsupervisory Logistics Readiness Course Director/Instructor. Represents the USAF Expeditionary Operations School Logistics cadre to HAF, as well as, a variety of MAJCOM, installation and functional area organizations.
Analyzes logistics readiness and planning processes and evaluates training issues and requirements.
Prepares and delivers oral presentations to senior leaders at HAF, MAJCOMs, USAF EC and EOS levels.

- Minimum of ten years experience in an Air Force logistics readiness or logistics planning discipline to apply the necessary expertise to the development of assigned programs/curriculum
- Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable, due to instructing upper-division undergraduate level curriculum to a wide variety of enlisted, officer and GS rank military personnel
- May be required to travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the duty site
- Successful completion of the Academic Instructor Course (AIC) or equivalent is highly desirable. If not, selectee will be required to complete an AIC course within six months of assignment as a condition of employment
- Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) instructor certification is highly desirable
- May be required to instruct other USAF Expeditionary Operations School courses
- May be required to manage programs and additional duties as they relate to course, branch, division, USAF EOS and EC support
- This is an Obligated Position in which an employee has return rights. Upon the employee's return, incumbent may be required to vacate this position
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Training Instruction Series 1712.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of logistics readiness and logistics planning training administration, policies, and procedures to develop an adequate training program. Comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of instructional concepts, methods, and techniques is required to develop and plan a variety of courses associated with teaching highly technical syllabus curriculum for the logistics training program. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction to include use of technology for design and delivery of training.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Thorough knowledge of logistics readiness and logistics planning training administration, policies, and procedures to develop an adequate training program.
Thorough knowledge of Air Force and DOD logistics readiness, logistics planning management and operations policies, procedures, programs and the Air Force War Planning and Execution family of systems [e.g., LOGMOD, DCAPES, Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES)].
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction to include use of technology for design and delivery of training.
Skill in the applications of logistics readiness, logistics planning, manpower and personnel as it applies to the assigned logistics readiness training programs.
Ability to apply the principles and techniques of education and to help students acquire specific skills or knowledge.
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communication to include in writing course curriculum, conducting instruction, and briefing a wide variety of enlisted, officer and GS rank military personnel; ability to work harmoniously and maintain professional relationships with others.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
