The Phoenix VA Health Care System is currently recruiting one (1) MyHealtheVet Program Support Assistant position in Veteran Experience Service in Phoenix, AZ at the 32nd Street Clinic. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating business processes and software functions. Ensures processes are in place to support the implementation of new and updated information technology systems and a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of the service.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Incumbent is the key point of contact responsible for assuring that all information technology equipment with the service is operational and coordinates with OI&T equipment replacement/installation with all other services.
Provides oversight for a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of the VE Service.
Responsible for the coordination and training for service and facility staff in functional areas for various information
technology packages to include but not limited to Secure Messaging.
Provides IT user support through training and troubleshooting problems; equipment support including maintaining the inventory, requesting repair and maintenance, and requesting new equipment.
Provides training support which includes developing and monitoring the Service's training plan; tracking employee training; participating in the development and delivery of in-service training; and performs office support duties which includes preparing reports; preparing graphics for presentations and ensuring that labor and equipment costs are properly assigned.
Assists the MHV Communications Specialist in developing presentations and then delivers presentations to all levels of the VAMC/HCS, service organizations, Veterans, family members, and caregivers.
Utilizes interpersonal communication skills to deal with Veterans who are difficult, hostile, or distressed, working with co-workers, supervisors, and high-level management, and negotiating.
Assists the MHV Communications Specialist to lead the facility's efforts to integrate MHV and SM among healthcare providers and patients.
Establishes, develops, and implements, at the direction or in conjunction with the MHV Communications Specialist, local MHV-related goals, strategies to meet goals, identifies responsible parties, tracks progress, including monitoring goals/activity status, and assists in the development of reports status/progress to medical center management.
Assists in establishing and managing communications plans that identify target audiences, appropriate messages, activities, and resources needed for effective communication, and effective communications plan for change management, incorporate multiple channels to manage expectations and disseminate project progress.
Assists in the development of multimedia campaign materials (e.g., printed articles, brochures, videos) to enlighten target population. Assists in researching and writing articles, news releases and briefs for inclusion in publications and for release to other media.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/10/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: In addition to meeting time in grade requirements, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing office automation duties using software applications, track, organize and review data. Ability to plan effectively, set priorities, have a high degree of skill in oral and written communications. .

Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk, although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. The incumbent works with a computer screen and keyboard. Some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to walking to
outlying areas. The work places no special physical demands on the employee.
