About the Position: Serves as Warehouse Materials Handler in the US Army TACOM, Clothing and Heraldry PSID, Medals Team, Philadelphia, PA. Responsible for the accountability, control, storage, space utilization, protection and issue of heraldic items and various materials in accordance with all applicable guidelines.
Duties
Receive, store and issue a variety of heraldic items, equipment, shop supplies, and common and special parts.
Identify item being requested from descriptions of nomenclature, stock number, or intended usage.
Make visual check of returned items, determining if item can be reused and reissued, or if disposal action is necessary.
Assemble and rearrange items in stock based on size, convenience in handling, similarity in nomenclature and kind, and available space.
Maintain Property accountability, storage and stock level inventories.
Issue items from stock, maintains accountable records utilizing automated systems to fill orders.
May operate forklift and pallet jack to load/unload items and to move items for rotation of stock and from one warehouse location to another.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

PHYISCAL EFFORTS
The incumbent is required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time and to bend,
stoop and lift items that weigh up to 40 lbs. Heavier items are moved with weight handling
equipment or with assistance from others. Use of handtools may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primary work is accomplished inside the warehouse. The warehouse is well lighted, with shelving
and stacks of boxes, crates and materials. Safety shoes and protective goggles are a requirement of
the position.
