Duties

You will ensure the mission, vision and core values are communicated to team members and are fully integrated into team goals and objectives. You will take the lead on team projects, applying qualitative and quantitative methods to improve effectiveness and manage workload. You will update data-base recordkeeping system; recommends changes and additions to Records Management Section policies, processes, procedures, and work flow. You will perform a variety of sensitive program and operations reviews, and with projects requiring the research and review of records and documents. You will provide solutions by identifying problems with recordkeeping system procedures, and recommend solutions for resolving problems. You will educate and train staff on recordkeeping and files maintenance procedures. You will analyze and participate, and lead records management operations, including review of retention and disposition processes and procedures. You will develop and maintain physical file plans and coordinate their maintenance with Records Management Liaisons. You will identify and assist in the processing of records eligible for transfer to the Federal Records Center (FRC) or the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing records to ensure they are maintained in accordance with records management procedures, policy, and regulations. Education

Education may be substituted for experience as follows:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
Successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled; OR
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
