As a Compensation Analyst, you will serve as developmental level professional In the Compensation and Benefits Division performing the role of assisting in the development and administration of OCC's compensation program. This position is location in the Office of Human Capital, Compensation and Benefits unit headquartered in Washington, DC.

Duties

As a Compensation Analyst, you will: With guidance, develop and provide advice and technical support regarding OCC's compensation policies, programs, and procedures on a wide range of areas, including salary administration, premium pay, use of special pay tools, and pay for performance programs. Interpret basic compensation policy to OCC management and staff and handles routine problems as they arise. Identify Information outside normal parameters, Investigate, and assist in resolution of Issues and provide general guidance on pay regulations, especially the Fair Labor Standards Act, compensatory time, and compensatory time off for travel under Title S, Code of Federal Regulations." Use knowledge of federal and private sector compensation principles, practices, and techniques to assist in the Implementation of new compensation programs. Assist senior level staff In providing support and guidance to other functional HR staff on OCC's compensation policy. Participate in and conduct compensation surveys including pay, benefits, and policy reviews and compile and review submissions and drafts survey responses for accuracy.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level in the Federal service. To qualify for the NB-IV level, you must have specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level, NB-III level. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: -Providing general guidance on pay regulations and federal and/or private sector compensation practices (e.g., the Fair Labor Standards Act, compensatory time, and compensatory time off for travel under Title 5, Code of Federal Regulations); OR -Analyzing, interpreting, and manipulating compensation data to summarize and identify trends; OR -Compiling and presenting compensation data to management. OR Education: You must have graduate education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Qualifying education includes: Master's or equivalent graduate degree; 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related or above. One year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Have a combination of graduate level education from an accredited college or university AND specialized experience (as described above), which is equivalent to the NB-III level in the Federal Service. This experience and education together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. When an applicant has less than one year of specialized experience as described in the announcement, he or she may combine successfully completed graduate-level education with experience to meet the total qualification requirements. One year of full time graduate education is considered to be number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one (1) year of fully-time study. If the number cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours will be considered an academic year of graduate study. The percentage of specialized work experience and the percentage of graduate study must total at least 100%. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
