Duties

This position serves the West Business Management Group at Indiana Dunes National Park, also serving 4 other park units as needed. Installs, tests, and directs the operation and installation of software and computer hardware which includes servers, personal computers, printers, servers, and other peripheral equipment. Updates and maintains problem tracking/ticketing systems to track and identify customer needs, as well as to discuss requirements with the customer to resolve the customer need. Troubleshoots system and equipment errors and connectivity problems and resolves most problems. Troubleshoot and maintain the stability of communications lines and equipment. Install configure, and troubleshoot LAN components such as routers, hubs, switches, and servers and manages the Active Directory program. Presents formal and informal training, guidance, and assistance to customers.

To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as assisting users by installing, configuring, and setting up personal computers, peripheral equipment and software on a business local area network supporting 10 or more users. Communicates factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing; gather and analyze basic facts and draw conclusions and performs limited data entry, editing, program execution and data and/or file retrieval. Your resume must include start/end dates and hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least completion of master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above.The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
