This serves as a public notice for the use of an Agency Unique Schedule A Hiring Authority in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3161. Positions will be filled as a TERM Appointment NTE 3 years, with possible extensions as allowed under 5 U.S.C 419 2(E).  Under this recruitment procedure, applications will be accepted for the location identified in this Public Notice. Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to research, write, and edit quarterly and special Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO) reports to Congress and the public. The incumbent’s duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: 

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
  • Annual Confidential Financial Disclosure required within first 30 days.
  • One-year probationary period, unless excepted by regulation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have significant experience that has provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience should demonstrate proficiency in areas such as the following: Experience in researching and preparing written materials. Knowledge of overseas contingency environments, particularly Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, preferred. Experience briefing senior officials. Experience in coordinating and reviewing the work of others. Experience in using and following style guides.
