The incumbent serves as a Staff Assistant to the Director, with responsibility for planning and carrying out multiple administrative functions of the Office with the.National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), National Institutes of Health.
Duties
Serves as a representative for the office on all matters related to implementation of policy, plans, and programs.
Recommends and implements changes in administrative policies.
Clarifies and explains policy, plans, and administrative matters or discusses implications of pending issues.
Coordinates subordinate staff within the office, ensuring that the administrative and clerical functions required for a smooth and efficient operation are provided.
Participates in special projects as assigned, including drafting guidance and writing memoranda and letters for signature by the supervisor.
Attends meetings, notes commitments made, informs staff of commitments, and arranges for staff to follow through on implementation.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks:analyzing administrative problems, developing recommendations, and synthesizing the data into reports or briefings; implementing administrative functions for an office; and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders on administrative matters of interest.
OR
B. Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related
OR
A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.
