About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Strategic Planner focused on the future operations portion of the planning process. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of management policies, programs and operations, organizations, missions and functions, staffing and workload.
Duties
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work.
Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
Plan, coordinate, and provide guidance and direction, develops objectives and plans of action, establishes timelines, ensures commonality of effort, and approves final product.
Direct the formulation and execution of long-range, strategic plans.
Formulate long range policy and strategic plans established to meet the organization’s strategic communication and engagement needs.
Recommend courses of action and documentation necessary to meet command organizational and force modernization requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- One year probationary period may be required.
- Position requires a Secret Security Clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: conducting continuous improvement studies and surveys which require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and/or productivity of substantive mission-oriented programs; conducting management analysis reviews which influence policy decisions involving management; performing staff projects designed to develop new improve procedures and processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
