This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Forensic Sciences in Arlington, VA.
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Office of Forensic Sciences, Administrative Support Unit to perform office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the employer/employer's customers.

As a your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinates and ensures procedures meet an office's needs and are consistently understood and followed. Recommends the establishment of and prepares administrative business processes for implementation throughout the office.
Assists supervisors in developing organizational goals and objectives.
Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of administrative policies and directives. Writes, coordinates, and reviews administrative and operational documents for various audiences.
Addresses complex problems or interrelated issues in developing and maintaining a strong administrative program. Researches and resolves general issues related to employee pay and leave. Serves as first point of contact for the resolution of employee questions regarding HR processes.
Maintains liaison with the Human Resources Specialists that service the office.
Creates and processes personnel actions, awards, recruitment actions, performance management, and Table of Organization (T/O) requests, through the applicable system(s) and/or POCs. Ensures maintenance of personnel records and submission of time and leave reports. Reviews all required personnel submissions for accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
GS-9:
Applicant must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade of GS-7 or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal Service which includes experience with at least two of the following:
Advising supervisors, customers, and team members on administrative and management matters regarding policies, procedures and regulations that impact the operation of a division or major office;
Experience with executing supervisor's priorities and business operations in order to meet suspense's;
Managing day-to-day operations to support mission requirements.
Assisting in managing the business operations support activities and functions of an office related to Administrative Support Services, Human Resources Liaison, Personal Property (accountable and non-accountable), Supply Management, and Records Management.
OR
Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
A combination of both, education and experience
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent 7. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
