This position is located in the Land & Agriculture Economy (LAE) Practice Group, Sector Operations Division, Department of Department of Compact Operations, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Although the position is advertised equivalent to SES/SL in pay, MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is Pay Band MC-2D which is generally equal to SES/SL pay only.

Duties

Serves as a lead technical expert on issues related to agriculture and the agricultural economy. The incumbent provides intellectual leadership and strategic guidance over MCC's portfolio of agriculture investments. Contributes to MCC's work on agriculture and the agricultural economy, including the design and implementation of agriculture-related programs. Provides quality control of MCC staff and consultant work products related to policies, practices, program design, and implementation strategies for MCC's agriculture programs. Ensures that MCC's agriculture investments are completed and properly handed over to partner government authorities. Provides timely and effective responses to issues concerning MCC agriculture investments. Works with Practice Group staff to ensure policies, procedures and guidance are followed; helping resolve disputes between Land & Agriculture Economy staff and other MCC divisions. Represents MCC in external forums, including the inter-agency, vis-à-vis technical discussions, deliberations and other knowledge management activities concerning MCC agriculture investments. Coordinates with other donors and research providers to keep abreast of best practices and trends. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for pay band 2D you must meet the following: Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 3A (GS-15) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. For this position, this experience is defined as; serving as a technical expert and advising on issues related to agriculture and the agricultural economy; designing and implementing agriculture related programs; developing implementation strategies and plans and practices to improve the performance of agriculture and agricultural economy investments of multi-lateral or bi-lateral or other organizations similar to MCC; and representing the organization in external technical discussions, deliberations, and activities concerning agricultural investments.
