About the Position: U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, Army National Guard Chief of Staff, Facility Services Arlington, Virginia About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.

Duties

Plan and direct comprehensive programs for the operation, maintenance, repair and improvement of the facility and to provide expert advice on space issues for the National Guard Bureau and its Directorates. Integrate necessary safety and security measures and makes certain that adequate building systems are available. Provide expert assistance on major planning problems and in formulating efficient and economical space operations policies, criteria, and procedures for space assignment projects. Develop, evaluate, and implement immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans and schedules to meet substantial changes in program authority and/or funding. Plan and provide recommendations for major agency moves, new operating policies, procedures, and expenditures.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
  • May be required to Serve as a Contracting Officers Representative (COR).
  • May serve as installation project officer.
  • May be required escort and supervise vendors in classified areas.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Control of FundsPlanning and EvaluatingProblem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
