About the Position: As a General Supply Specialist you will be responsible for ammunition management, logistics data management, and a variety of technical studies. You will apply a thorough knowledge of the various supply, inventory, and accountability functions, systems management functions, and utilizing supply related knowledge for Class V Ammo for related inventory program.
Duties
Approve recommendations made by users and/or lower level inventory management employees to increase stock levels for components or subassemblies.
Authorize significant changes in expenditure and stocking levels based on order and usage records, and meet with groups of users and suppliers to arrange for or modify stock levels, storage points, acquisition lead times, and units of issue.
Provide technical guidance related to ammunition supply and supply systems management contract to include application of systems in performing assignments, development of reports and statistical data.
Participate in planning and determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs for items of low and medium monetary value.
Determine work methods, techniques and local procedures for receipt, custody, care and/or distribution of materiel.
Develop proposed changes to general supply policies and procedures, applicable to a major installation or geographic region, that directly impacts with other materiel management policies.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing reports, data, and analysis to resolve supply problems in accordance with applicable supply regulations, policies and procedures. Using automated supply system to reconstruct records for complex supply transactions.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as supply management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
